Counseling and Supervision

Experienced *Practical* Compassionate*
As a Christian and a therapist with 35 years of experience, I meet you during your difficult time with hopefulness and warmth. My therapy style is practical, encouraging, and as brief as possible. We are a team. I am truthful, knowledgeable, and I actually try to make our sessions fun. I am licensed as a Professional Counselor(#10402) and Marriage and Family therapist (#1785) , as well as supervisor of both.
You are the expert of your own life. In therapy we will explore together what is working for you and what it not. I believe the best solutions are found when we build on your strengths, anchor into your spiritual core, and break bad habits. My style is very warm and direct, with an emphasis on solutions, possibilities, and practical ideas. I do not like the medical model or the use of psycho-babble. We usually meet for an hour, but couples and family sessions may be longer. I prefer to work with couples together in most situations and try to involve both parents (even in divorced families) when working with children. My goal is to restore unity and great co-parenting.
I am a dual approved clinical supervisor of LPC and MFTs. I offer supervision of your 3000 hour requirement toward full licensure as well as practicum supervision for graduate students. Supervision is in complete accordance with Board rules. We discuss cases, review theory, rigorously cover Hipaa, Texas Family Code, and other ethical and legal requirements, so that you are prepared for a robust and successful career as a therapist. I passionately believe that therapy is the best work ever and I truly want to mentor you from beginning to end. I keep a relationship with former supervisees and help with practice development. I am happy to give your references from previous supervisees.
Life can be difficult, and so many people have grown up in troubled families and with grief and loss. I am trained to work with depression, anxiety, and the aftermath of trauma. "We are all the walking wounded."
"Life is change". As you walk through these changes: raising children, surviving divorce, death of family, career and personal changes, and making peace with difficult people in your life, I can help you find clarity, peace, and closure. I also have expertise in working with LGBTQ individuals, families, and couples. Play therapy and parent coaching are also available.
Seeking peace and connection with your Higher Power amplifies your happiness and strength. I believe this is a core principle of successful change and healing. Respecting all spiritual traditions and anchoring in love, I encourage you to explore your beliefs and improve your relationship with your God.
I accept cash, checks, PayPal, and Credit cards. I do not accept insurance. Receipt is available on Request. A good faith estimate of total cost of treatment will be provided in writing to you and will be explained in the intake process.
"Supervision with Faith is not only helpful and full of great information, but the most empowering experience. We focus on improving therapy skills, ethical values, and she encourages you to be the best therapist you can be in a style that is comfortable for you."
"I am more knowledgeable than my peers because of Faith's diligence in keeping up with all things counseling-related. Once I was fully licensed, I was confident because of the supervision I received. I now consider Faith a mentor and a friend for life."
